INTRODUCING
The FamiliesFIRST Program
Consisting of six weeks of self-focused healing and experiential learning, the FamiliesFIRST program is designed to help navigate the experience of loving someone with substance use disorder.
Led by a dedicated team of specialists and delivered entirely online, participants join the clinical team from the location of their choosing.
To ensure privacy and adequate clinical time, each group is closed at a maximum of 12 people. Groups remain consistent throughout the process allowing for trust and safety to form between group members.
Areas of exploration include the impact of addiction on the family dynamic, trauma and the nervous system, understanding addiction and the brain, the role of boundaries and communication, self-care and the importance of our own support.

Continuing Care
FamiliesFIRST programming also includes 8-weeks of additional support through weekly Continuing Care groups.
These groups are exclusive to those who have completed FamiliesFIRST and provide a safe space for participants to begin to implement the new recovery-oriented behaviours that were presented during the program.
Continuing Care was designed to help families grow their network of support by connecting them with others who share similar life experiences.
Both peer and professional support are provided to assists with the ongoing challenges our families face.
This includes concerns such as setting and maintaining boundaries, welcoming our loved ones home from treatment, how to handle a relapse, and working through feelings of fear, anger, and grief.
